St. Anne’s Episcopal Church
Announcements, Calendar & Prayers
The Most Holy Name of Jesus Christ
For the Week beginning January 1st, 2012
BURNING OF THE GREENS - Friday, Jan. 6th
Come join us at the Ford family farm for a burning of the greens celebration. "To celebrate the light of Christ coming into the World." Bring your Christmas tree and other live greens to throw on the brush pile for a fun bonfire. We'll have food, song, hot drinks, and of course, Epiphany Cake. See Evelyn if you can help with the food. The Ford's farm is located south on Church Street. From St. Anne's right out of parking lot, go straight on Oakleigh Ave. to the stop sign and turn left on Church Street. Drive roughly one mile and a quarter. Look for the luminarias. If you hit Purdham Mill Rd. you've gone too far!
VESTRY RETREAT DAY - SATURDAY, JAN. 14th
Our newly formed vestry will meet in a retreat planning session on January 14th at the Colemans. If you have ideas, concerns, or information that will help us as we do long range planning and short term 2012 planning, please see one of the vestry members or Pastor Jeunée. Congratulations to Tif Rice, Ronnie Spiggle and Spencer Coleman who were elected as our new vestry members. Vestry installations will be Sunday, January 15th.
WEDNESDAY STUDY - Our Wednesday evening Study continues with The Story, a walk through a narrative version of the bible. During January, Grace Hills will join us on Wednesday nights as we look at the division of David’s Kingdom, the prophets, and exile. 7:00 pm until 8:15 pm.

HAVEN'T SEEN SOMEONE IN CHURCH LATELY?
Why not give them a call? Maybe they're under the weather. Maybe they've been traveling, but a friendly call from a church member just saying, "I've
missed seeing you, and I hope you are well" is a great way to stay connected. If you find someone is in need of more pastoral care or prayer, you can let Pastor Jeunée know. The updated phone directories are on the info table. Also, look for parishioner prayer-cycle calendars in the New Year to help you pray for our parish family.
FOOD PANTRY COLLECTION
The St. Anne’s Food Pantry collects on the First Sunday of the month. Bring your canned goods or non-perishables into church and place in the basket at the church entrance. We can also accept food any week.
THANKS TO ANGEL TREE ANGELS!
Thanks to the folks at St. Anne’s for making Christmas special for our Angel Tree recipients.
THANKS FOR:
The Ford Family for again enhancing our worship by illuminating the grounds of the church for Christmas Eve.
The children who served at the early service with angelic hearts and faces.
At the late service, Dorothy Charte Booth for bringing us all to tears with “O Holy Night” and the Choir with their joyous voices, and Martha Charte for enhancing the music the service music with the flute addition.
ONE MORE BEAUTIFUL DAY!
The Flowers on the altar are to the Glory of God and Trish Durbin who celebrated her birthday last week.
IT’S UPDATE TIME:
This is the time of year that your church secretaries ask for updates for ALL
our lists. Right now we are looking for updates for ECW meetings and/or upcoming activities, the Altar Guild, Flower Dedications, and VOM list. Having this information in the office makes it more efficient to for us to share with the congregation. Thank You! Marty and Joanne.
